The paper describes seasonal development of Galtonia candicans (Baker) Decne. at the initial introduction into conditions of forest-steppe in the South of Western Siberia. This bulbous perennial from South Africa subtropical zone does not winter in the ground, showing undemanding to soil fertility; it flowered and fruited annually. The aim of the research carried out in 2015–2017 was to expand the collections of low spread ornamental perennials, promising for ornamental purposes in the region. Galtonia candicans successfully passed the initial introduction test. The vegetation lasted from the middle of May until October frosts. The period from planting to flowering is about 80–90 days. Seeds ripened at the end of September. According to flowering terms, the species is classified as a late summer-autumn flowering plant.
