Common hazel (Corylus аvellana L.) is widely distributed throughout Russia. In Russia, there is a demand for plants that have ornamental properties and give delicious nutritious fruits. From the characteristics of leaves, the most attractive is their colour. According to the colour, we recorded the forms with leaves that allow them to be attributed to ornamental. One form has Carmine-red colour shade and three forms - purple colour shades of leaves. In order to identify new ornamental forms the study of population should be continued.
