THE RESULTS OF STUDYING IRIS L. VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION WITHIN INTRODUCTION IN THE SOUTH-URAL BOTANICAL GARDEN

The paper presents studying results on vegetative propagation rate in some cultivars and species of Iris L. introduced in the South-Ural Botanical GardenInstitute – Economically Autonomous Structural Subdivision of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Ufa Federal Research Centre of the Russian Science Academy, as an important economic plant feature when used in landscaping. The objects of the study were 45 cultivars and 24 species of Iris L. As a result of the study it was revealed that a year after planting the multiplication factor in Iris L. cultivars was in the range 2 to 4. From wild irises growing in the flora of the Republic of Bashkortostan, I. sibirica L. demonstrated the highest vegetative propagation rate and I. pumila L. – the lowest one.
