Long-term data on winter damage assessment, as well as arboretum expansion of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "FASCA" by woody plants are presented. The gene pool has been preserved and expanded in 2012–2018 from 1 228 to 1 251 tree species, varieties and hybrids. Long-term introduction tests with an annual assessment of the degree of winter damage revealed the most stable and promising forms for widening the range of woody plants in ornamental landscaping of Altai Region. Five taxa have been recommended for the first time: Hydrangea arborescens ‘Bella Anna’, H. paniculata ‘Limelight’, H. paniculata ‘Pinky Winky’, Cornus alba ‘Aurea’ and Philadelphus hybrid ‘Snowbelle’
