The paper discusses adaptation problems of decorative flowering shrubs in the new conditions of cultivation. An assessment of adaptive qualities of species and cultivars of Weigela florida ‘Alexandra’, Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Lettle Devil’, Clethra alnifolia, Spiraea betulifolia ‘Tor Gold’, Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ was carried out. High winter hardiness and decorativeness of 4-year-old mother plants of these samples taken from the genetic collection of the Russian Selection and Technological Institute of Horticulture and Nursery Breeding were noted in the conditions of Moscow region. The studied species and cultivars are recommended for reproduction in nurseries and use in gardens and parks for various purposes.
