The paper presents analysis results of landscaping for the medical building of the health resort "Metallurg" in Izhevsk city. The reasons for low phytodesign efficiency were revealed at the time of inspection in 2013. The developed recommendations for improving landscaping efficiency are highlighted; the data of five-year phytodesign monitoring are given. The paper also shows theoretical and practical contributions made by the Department of Introduction and Acclimatization of Plants (Udmurt Federal Research Centre of the Ural Brunch of the Russian Science Academy) in landscaping for the medical building of the health resort "Metallurg". The paper characterized the species composition of phytodesign as a whole and some rare plant species from the tropical and subtropical exotics collected at the Department of Introduction and Acclimatization of Plants, as well as their resistance to growing conditions in low light during winter. Indoor plants species the most resistant to the insufficient light were investigated in the conditions of the medical building of the health resort and are described in the paper.
