Since 1934 it was planned to organize training courses for specialists in the field of gardening in the Botanical Garden by its founder, Professor S. S. Stankov. The “School of Gardeners” was opened in 2003. This is an annual course designed for 319 study hours, including 73 hours of practice and excursions around the Botanical Garden expositions. The curriculum includes sections on garden style, the basics of plant biology and their systematics, soil science, agricultural chemistry, protection from pests and diseases. The largest and most interesting sections are devoted to garden plants (tree-shrub ornamental and fruit-berry, herbaceous perennials and annuals), as well as compositions from these plants and care for them (sowing, grafting, pruning). We study the mechanisms and tools for garden care, a calendar of works in the garden is usually proposed. Some graduates have already organized their nurseries and landscape firms; they got a job in the Botanical Garden of the National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University and now they are carrying out training courses for gardeners,
